Diagnostics
Diagnostics are a foundational part of our work. They allow us to gain a full understanding of your oral health, your habits, how your teeth function, and how we can build the most effective treatment plan tailored to you.
In most cases, we require the use of x-rays, as teeth are extremely dense and can conceal underlying issues. For instance, in the lower jaw runs a major nerve called the inferior alveolar nerve (commonly known as the lower dental nerve). When planning a wisdom tooth extraction, it’s crucial to assess the proximity of this nerve. This may involve taking a panoramic x-ray, or in more complex cases, a 3D scan called a cone beam CT to get a detailed view.
Before your examination, we take the time to review your general health and discuss your concerns and goals. During the diagnostic appointment, we thoroughly assess your teeth, facial skin, jaw joints, muscles, and soft tissues within the mouth. This is done through a combination of careful clinical evaluation, detailed photographs, and appropriate imaging.

Hygiene treatments
Hygiene treatments are essential to maintaining a healthy mouth and preventing future dental problems. At our clinic, we perform all hygiene treatments using an advanced air polisher system (unless not indicated or not needed), which provides a more thorough clean against staining.
Regular professional cleanings go beyond what’s possible with brushing and flossing alone, removing stubborn plaque and tartar that can lead to gum disease, tooth decay, and bad breath.
Vere Dental offers both routine hygiene care and more intensive gum treatments when periodontal disease is present and requires targeted attention.
Our dentists strongly recommend these treatments not only for maintaining oral health, but also for supporting overall wellbeing—poor gum health has been linked to systemic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
By keeping your teeth and gums clean, healthy, and inflammation-free, hygiene treatments can significantly improve your comfort, confidence, and quality of life on a daily basis.
